The Product Manager will be responsible for supporting both the Synergy Pure product line as well as foodservice/BIB products manufactured in Hamilton.  This includes developing a high level technical understanding of product offerings, defining the product vision, assessing the marketplace for potential, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, and working closely with Research & Development to deliver winning products.  It includes working with Technical, Sales, Marketing, Regulatory and Operations to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. 



  • Assess Synergy capabilities to determine technical fit of products from Synergy Ohio by translating researched customer needs and industry trends into Synergy R&D.
  • Responsible to oversee and drive the development associated with the Synergy Pure product line: product profiles and offerings, commercialization, pricing and gross margin, forecasts, R&D, marketing, customer service, legal, production, etc.
  • Work with Business Development to develop product value proposition, market positioning and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share, sales volume, and profitability.
  • Providing technical support for the commercial team on product requirements and formulation guidance. This involves market knowledge and opportunity awareness, product training, printed and electronic promotional material, etc.
  • Responsible for reviewing product data to ensure that the sales force is kept up to date on new developments regarding the industry or competitors’ products.
  • Act as point of reference internally for all product related technical inquiries and work collaboratively with colleagues in Research & Development and Regulatory to address any issues that may arise.
  • Support the Marketing efforts by providing clarity on product attributes and technical guidance in the application of our technologies.
  • Responsible for preparing product or raw material forecasts, and constantly monitoring inventory levels held at warehouses including liaison with production (locally and globally) to ensure supply timelines.
  • Represent the company and the product at industry trade shows and conferences, as well as at customer presentations.
  • Designing and implementing product training for N.A and affiliates


  • 5+ years job related experience. Experience in product management, business development, category marketing and/or sales.
  • Experience in the ingredient flavor or other related industry required.
  • In-depth expertise in new product development from conception to market launch to obsolescence.
  • Management experience directing cross-functional teams to oversee profitability of products (existing and new products).
  • Budgeting experience – expenses and capital requirements for product projects.
  • Strong product development, strategic planning, marketing, and project management skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with ability to influence cross-functional team members, as well as senior management.
  • Proven leadership abilities and strong presence.
  • In-depth knowledge of the flavor and food ingredient global marketplace.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. Must be able to successfully interface with all levels of the organization.  Above-average presentation skills are required.
  • Excellent knowledge and usage of Microsoft platform, cross-cultural communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with high energy level and ability to think and act strategically.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%.
