  • Overview

    The Regulatory Associate will be responsible for fielding internal and external regulatory requests which includes creating basic to moderate regulatory documents.  They are to work on more difficult request as they are trained and capable.  The expectation of the Associate is to learn the basics of the regulatory department and train on various topics and regulations within the flavor and food industries in order to become more proficient in their role and in the department.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare standard set of documentation via various computer systems such as Product Vision, TraceGains and IHS, as well as generate statements via Word documents based on customer requests.
    • Assist in the completion of customer specific questionnaires and product specific questions
    • Assist with collection and review of raw material documentation.
    • Train on various aspects of regulatory in order to understand the upcoming trends in the industry
    • Assist in the continuous improvement of the regulatory programs
    • Assisting in site audits and certifications where necessary
    • Participate in the company’s organoleptic evaluation program
    • Any additional duties deemed necessary by the department manager

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in a Science related field such as Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or Food Science / Technology or 3-5 years in a similar role within the flavor industry
    • Strong verbal and written skills with 1-2 years of communicating directly with customers.
    • Proficient with computer skills with Microsoft Windows applications to include Word, Excel and Outlook.
    • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
    • Excellent attention to detail, customer service, organizational and communication skills.
    • Experience in the food or food ingredient manufacturing industry preferred.
    • A positive attitude and the flexibility to adjust to changing situations
