The Plant Controller will manage the plant financial and cost accounting activates for the Hamilton, Ohio location.
Manage and oversee the plant cost accounting activities
Prepare annual operating plan for the plant.
Prepares weekly sales flash and updates plant sales forecast.
Analyzes sales and gross margin data.
Implements cost control procedures and provides supervision over cost systems and methods.
Directs the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, fixed assets, A/R
Perform the monthly closing activities.
Manages the preparation of periodic financial statements for plant and develops and/or prepares appropriate operating reports.
Reviews financial statements with executive and plant management team
Monitors inventory in order to identify excess quantities and provide early warning for items approaching end of life.
Prepares cost analysis for capital projects
Development and maintenance of standard costs, labor and overhead rates.
Proactive analysis of variances and communication of issues and opportunities to operations management
Develop metrics and tracking system for major cost drivers
Directs and participates in cost analyses and rate studies.
Oversee local internal control environment.
Establishes system controls for new financial systems and develops procedures to improve existing systems.
Coordinates preparation of external and internal audit materials.
Manage 1-2 direct reports
Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance required, CPA a plus
5+ years' experience with proven successful assumption of similar responsibilities in a manufacturing company.
Knowledge of accounting and reporting systems (MS Dynamics AX, SAP, etc.)
Experience managing direct reports
Strong understanding of business processes in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated background managing an environment that requires a high sense of urgency, strong results orientation, tight time frames, budgeting experience and solid understanding of practices and procedures in an international environment
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
Flexible – able to plan for contingencies and know when to invoke them.
Strong organizational skills. High level of personal discipline.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Able to communicate with all levels of the organization, including technical teams.
