  • Overview

    The Software Applications Analyst will be responsible for applications support for Dynamics AX ERP system. This includes report writing, data extracts, scripting, and functional support of MS Access systems and development of barcode labels.

    Responsibilities

    Technical Responsibilities:

    • Provide applications and technical support for existing Dynamics AX 2012 R3 ERP system
    • Provide applications and technical support for existing SQL Data Warehouse system, including monitoring daily jobs, resolving issues, modifications to SQL scripts, maintenance of tables, and other DBA responsibilities
    • Provide applications and technical support for existing CRM system running on Dynamics AX
    • Provide support of interfaces to/from Product Vision (PLM) to Dynamics AX
    • Development of barcode labels to support business, using Bartender or other solution
    • Work with team members on the building and support of Power BI rollout
    • Responsible for the installation, setup and maintenance of software on users’ desktops, as well as servers (as needed)

     

    Business Responsibilities:

    • Provide support of users help desk issues, including updating an electronic Help Desk system
    • Communicate regularly with IT Management of current status, problems, issues and ideas
    • Interface with 3rd party consultants on custom Dynamics AX requests
    • Provide daily, weekly, and/or monthly status reporting, as needed
    • Provide assistance with application testing, as needed

    Qualifications

    Required Skills and Experience:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Information Systems or related field
    • Five or more years of experience as a business analyst and/or systems analyst.
    • Three or more years of SQL experience with the ability to write ad hoc reports and complex queries in order to perform data analysis and troubleshooting
    • Two or more years of Crystal Report experience, MS Access experience and MS SQL SSRS report writer
    • Working knowledge of Visual Basic, Visual Studio
    • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012
    • Experience with BI solution, such as Power BI
    • Experience with D365 would be helpful for future migration
    • Excellent listening, organizational, written, verbal and presentation skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms as well as communicate technical concepts to non-technical personnel
    • Experienced with building interfaces between systems
    • Ability to handle several implementation tasks and/or projects at any given time
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, the ability to analyze complex business needs presented by users and recommend technical solutions
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and understand prioritization of deliverables.
    • Willingness to research and find solutions to new business issues
    • Able to work independently and seek out opportunities for business improvements
