  • Overview

    The Regional Manager is responsible for managing four to six U.S. based account executives and will report to the VP of Sales and Marketing.  The Regional Manager navigates across all company functions to find solutions and support account executives and our customers.  This role requires 60% travel visiting key customers and prospects, typically with account executives.  This position will be ideally located in Wauconda, IL our headquarters for the Americas.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with Account Manager to develop and achieve account strategies and annual sales plans.
    • Work with R&D and Product Management, prioritizing and guiding ongoing customer projects.
    • Develop and maintain opportunity pipeline report.
    • Identify and bolster training needs of sales team, including coaching and development of tactical and strategic selling skills.
    • Guide pricing strategies and execute broader price adjustments when and where necessary.  Assist in pricing decisions.
    • Maintain in-depth knowledge of products, services, competitors, and company-wide marketing plans/strategic/programs/promotions.
    • Work with Marketing and Product Managers to identify and champion product sector and cross selling initiatives, and execute to field.
    • Establish, monitor and manage/approve T&E expenses of region to be within plan.
    • Work with Marketing to execute regional and National trade shows and events.
    • Assist in key account and prospect presentations.
    • Monitor customer contracts and execute forward.

    Qualifications

    • Ten (10) or more years industrial flavors or functional ingredient sales required.
    • Management experience required.
    • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales quotas and goals.
    • Multitasking – ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects and priorities.
    • Flexible – able to plan for contingencies and know when to invoke them.
    • Strong organizational, troubleshooting and planning skills. High level of personal discipline.
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Able to communicate with all levels of the organization, including technical teams.
    • Proficient in use of technology for business (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with knowledge of CRM systems a plus.
    • Bachelors’ Degree required, preferably in Science or Business
