General Manager, Southern Europe
Following the acquisition of Janoušek, S.p.A. based in Trieste, Synergy Flavours is now seeking a General Manager to join the team. This role will be responsible for all activity in a new Synergy facility in N.E. Italy including export activity from the Italian site and for other defined commercial opportunities across southern Europe within a matrix, in collaboration with the UK and Ireland operations.
This role will:
- Drive commercial and operational strategy for the established Italian business
- Lead the expansion of the business within a defined and coordinated plan for Synergy across Southern Europe
- Develop the facility and its capability to achieve Synergy’s local and international plan
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Significant relevant experience in ingredients sales in Europe
- Operational knowledge in flavour/ingredients

The Executive Assistant supports the President and CEO and selected Synergy North American leadership team members. In this position the person will provide high level support to the office of the President/CEO. The CEO will rely on the Executive Assistant to help manage communication with company personnel and the leadership team that reports directly to him by being his intermediary and liaison. The Executive Assistant will have exceptional organizational, detail-oriented, management, communication, and emotional intelligence skills while having a positive and professional demeanor.
The IT Technician will gather requirements for projects and be a liaison between the Wauconda IT team and Hamilton users. They will maintain and support Microsoft Windows and Office products, PC hardware, and other related equipment such as printers. This person will also utilize customer service skills in resolving technical issues with end users in our Hamilton office.
The Sensory Scientist II position fills a key lead role within our growing Global R&D sensory function and thus requires a self-starter that can manage diverse responsibilities. These responsibilities include execution of internal and customer-driven sensory protocols (including data analysis, presentation and recommendations), development and initiation of a new internal training and education program, and presentation of Synergy sensory capabilities to outside stakeholders. The role requires descriptive, discriminative and consumer sensory expertise and experience combined with leadership and communication acumen. Finally, this position supports our global business of meeting and exceeding current customer expectations but also our Research and Innovation group. The successful candidate will have broad exposure to multiple other Synergy functions including Sales and Marketing, Regulatory, Quality, Operations/Manufacturing and Finance.
The Business Development Manager provides leadership in the development of business plans and new product development plans in support of the strategic plan for Synergy. The position manages the Beverage product portfolio, identifying customer and market needs and translating those needs to product and technology needs from Synergy. Business Development Manager drives commercialization of products and technologies, partnering with Sales, Marketing, Flavor Creation & Applications and Research.
The Compliance Analyst will support quality and food safety compliance for multiple manufacturing sites. This position will assist with facility inspections, auditing internal and external sites, and maintaining quality and food safety compliance. The role has responsibility for maintaining HACCP, Food Safety Plans (FSMA), GMP, and SQF compliance.
The Regulatory Associate will be responsible for fielding internal and external regulatory requests which includes creating basic to moderate regulatory documents. They are to work on more difficult request as they are trained and capable. The expectation of the Associate is to learn the basics of the regulatory department and train on various topics and regulations within the flavor and food industries in order to become more proficient in their role and in the department.
The Product Manager will be responsible for supporting both the Synergy Pure product line as well as foodservice/BIB products manufactured in Hamilton. This includes developing a high level technical understanding of product offerings, defining the product vision, assessing the marketplace for potential, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, and working closely with Research & Development to deliver winning products. It includes working with Technical, Sales, Marketing, Regulatory and Operations to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.
The Senior Flavor Chemist is a technical leadership position responsible for the flavor creation process from conceptualization through commercial application within the food and beverage segment. Focal areas include guiding new product development, quality improvement, cost reduction and training/mentoring. The Senior Flavor Chemist is expected to demonstrate a creative and innovative mindset, technical excellence and effective mentoring of flavorists. This position routinely engages Synergy’s Commercial, Marketing, Applications, Sensory, Research and Operations functions to ensure the delivery of customer-preferred products.
